Maryland EMS Refresher
FOAMfrat Studio offers CAPCE-accredited continuing education courses accepted by the NREMT for Maryland EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics—meeting both national and state-specific requirements
Maryland follows NREMT requirements for EMS recertification. All certifications are renewed every two years and follow the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model with three components: national, local/state, and individual education components.
Maryland-specific local / state CE requirements may be required for renewal, verify with MIEMS.
EMT Refresher
40 hours total continuing education required
National: 20 Hours
Local/State: 10 Hours
Individual: 10 Hours
Paramedic Refresher
60 hours total continuing education required
National: 30 Hours
Local/State: 15 Hours
Individual: 15 Hours

EMT Renewal: Valid NREMT, completion of all protocol updates, affiliation with BLS EMS Operation Program
