Idaho EMS Refresher

FOAMfrat Studio offers CAPCE-accredited continuing education courses accepted by the NREMT for Idaho EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics—meeting both national and state-specific requirements 

Idaho follows NREMT requirements for EMS recertification. All certifications are renewed every two years and follow the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model with three components: national, local/state (outlined below), and individual education components OR providers can report CE hours in IGEMS (see below). 

EMT Refresher

40 hours total continuing education required

National: 20 Hours

Local/State: 10 Hours

Individual: 10 Hours

AEMT Refresher

50 hours total continuing education required

National: 25 Hours

Local/State: 12.5 Hours

Individual: 12.5 Hours

Paramedic Refresher

60 hours total continuing education required

National: 30 Hours

Local/State: 15 Hours

Individual: 15 Hours

Additional Information: 

EMT State Requirement: Must complete 48 hours of continuing education, including at least one hour in each category(ARV/Cardiovascular/Trauma/Medical/Operations). No more than 14 hours from any single category may count toward the total. Additionally, 4 hours must be pediatric-specific.

AEMT State Requirement: Must complete 54 hours of continuing education, including at least one hour in each category(ARV/Cardiovascular/Trauma/Medical/Operations). No more than 16 hours from any single category may count toward the total. Additionally, 6 hours must be pediatric-specific.

ParamedicState Requirement: Must complete 72 hours of continuing education, including at least one hour in each category(ARV/Cardiovascular/Trauma/Medical/Operations). No more than 22 hours from any single category may count toward the total. Additionally, 8 hours must be pediatric-specific.
