Kentucky EMS Refresher
FOAMfrat Studio offers CAPCE-accredited continuing education courses accepted by the NREMT for Kentucky EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics—meeting both national and state-specific requirements.
Kentucky follows NREMT requirements for EMS recertification. All certifications are renewed every two years and follow the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model, which consists of three components: national, local/state, and individual education components.
EMT Refresher
40 hours total continuing education required
National: 20 Hours
Local/State: 10 Hours
Individual: 10 Hours
AEMT Refresher
50 hours total continuing education required
National: 25 Hours
Local/State: 12.5 Hours
Individual: 12.5 Hours
Paramedic Refresher
60 hours total continuing education required
National: 30 Hours
Local/State: 15 Hours
Individual: 15 Hours

Kentucky providers must complete the following:

HIV/AIDS training required by KRS 311A.120

Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma required by KRS 311A.120.

Awareness of Sexual Violence training required by KRS 311A.120.
