Missouri EMS Refresher


FOAMfrat Studio offers CAPCE-accredited continuing education courses accepted by the NREMT for Missouri EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics—meeting both national and state-specific requirements 

Missouri follows NREMT requirements for EMS recertification. All certifications are renewed every two years and follow the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model with three components: national, local/state, and individual education components 

OR 

Providers must complete the required number of continuing education hours based on their certification level.

EMT Refresher

40 hours total continuing education required

National: 20 Hours

Local/State: 10 Hours

Individual: 10 Hours

AEMT Refresher

50 hours total continuing education required

National: 25 Hours

Local/State: 12.5 Hours

Individual: 12.5 Hours

Paramedic Refresher

60 hours total continuing education required

National: 30 Hours

Local/State: 15 Hours

Individual: 15 Hours

Our CAPCE-Accredited courses are automatically imported to your NREMT Transcript using the 'Import CAPCE Courses' on your NREMT Transcript page. 
 
To renew an Missouri EMS certification without NREMT,  providers must complete the required number of continuing education hours based on their certification level. These hours may be completed entirely through Core Topics, or split between Core and the Local/State/Individual components if applicable.

  • EMT – 100 Hours Required

    • All 100 hours may be Core, OR

    • A minimum of 48 Core hours is required; the remaining 52 may be completed under Local/State or Individual Components.
      (If no state or local requirements apply, remaining hours may be logged as individual hours.)

  • AEMT – 144 Hours Required

    • All 144 hours may be Core, OR

    • A minimum of 72 Core hours is required; the remaining 72 may be completed under Local/State or Individual Components.
      (If no state or local requirements apply, remaining hours may be logged as individual hours.)

  • Paramedic – 144 Hours Required

    • All 144 hours may be Core, OR

    • A minimum of 96 Core hours is required; the remaining 48 may be completed under Local/State or Individual Components.
      (If no state or local requirements apply, remaining hours may be logged as individual hours.)
