FlightBridgeED, LLC is a medical education company that specializes in providing pre-hospital, critical care, and emergency medicine education for healthcare professionals of all types. Initially, we were created out of what several air medical industry professionals observed as a terrible lack of education for paramedics wanting to step onto a skid, and into the skies. Of course, once the conversations expanded it was obvious that the same lack of education plagued the nurses as well. The self-guided study and some expensive classes requiring weeks of attendance were almost all of the choices available to healthcare professionals interested in critical care education. Further, there were no classes that prepared the student to take on the role of flight crew member without extensive, extra on-the-job training costing thousands of dollars for employers and valuable time for the new flight crew member.

Established in 2012, FlightBridgeED, LLC. began as this very simple conversation among some good friends, and colleagues that resulted in a formal meeting, founding of a company, and initial release of episode 1 of The FlightBridgeED Podcast. From that first podcast, our education team began developing a new premium set of educational tools designed to help our community of students successfully pass their advanced certification exams. Our vision didn't end with just passing the (very difficult) exams required to obtain, or keep a job in the air medical industry. Every member of the FlightBridgeED team wants to invest in you, and your continued success as a clinician. We believe that the foundation of our company and our industry future is YOU.

Transitioning into the air medical industry can often be confusing, frustrating, and difficult. Standards are generally set by a voluntary accreditation commission adopted by the air medical service providers, but that's not the end of the story. Hiring standards and practices rely heavily on personal recommendation, experience, and education. Flight team positions are relatively limited, often in demand, and always competitive among applicants. It isn't unusual for 50 or more individuals to apply for the same position, and that means more emphasis is placed on your background, work experience, ongoing professional development, and demonstrated commitment to excellence. Once hired as a flight team member, orientation can seem overwhelming and expectations unclear depending on the organization, and the mentor, or preceptor program. Once orientation is complete, the education is just beginning! Advanced certifications need to be obtained, continuing education to retain licensure must be completed, and a systematic enrichment of basic and advanced knowledge should continue throughout a career.

The FlightBridgeED team can provide crucial ground to air medical transition education to the potential flight team member pursuing their helicopter ambulance, or critical care transport career. FlightBridgeED can also strategically develop, customize, and track the educational development of a new orientee through their vital first steps as well as provide the seasoned flight team member with CEU courses, and community-driven discussion and learning throughout their career.
