2) Does Flow State have a place in medicine?
3) Was wondering if you might know why the cardiologist for the Covid patient in the ICU told the Nurse he wanted the patient to stay toward the acidotic state. I wasn't his nurse and was overhearing the conversation so I only know a few things. His pH on ABG's was around 7.36 which the Doc was happy with. The patient had been in ICU on the vent for about 2 wks already and was scheduled for a trache later that day. He was on ECMO and CRRT. Drips that I know he was on were Angiomax, fentanyl, Precedex, I am not experienced in ICU, just there dropping some things off, but am always interested in what I hear when I'm there. I asked his nurse why the Doc wants to keep him toward the lower end of normal pH and she didn't know. Maybe the medications work better in that state? Any ideas?
4) What is a book you are reading or have read recently that you found beneficial
