40 hours total continuing education required

• Preparatory / Operations: 4 Hours

• ARV: 6 Hours

• Trauma:  8 Hours

• Special Considerations: 8 Hours (4 hours must be Pediatric)

EMT Intermediate

50 hours total continuing education required

• Preparatory / Operations: 4 Hours

• ARV: 8 Hours

• Cardiac:  6 Hours

• Medical:  12 Hours

• Trauma:  10 Hours

• Special Considerations: 10 Hours (5 hours must be Pediatric)

Paramedic

60 hours total continuing education required

• Preparatory / Operations: 6 Hours

• ARV: 8 Hours

• Cardiac:  10 Hours

• Medical:  14 Hours

• Trauma:  10 Hours

• Special Considerations: 12 Hours (12 hours must be Pediatric)

Our CAPCE-Accredited courses are automatically imported to your NREMT Transcript using the 'Import CAPCE Courses' on your NREMT Transcript page. 
 
50% of continuing education hours must be completed through live instruction, which can be fulfilled by attending FOAMfrat’s live instructor-led classes.

New Mexico provider are NOT required to maintain your National Registry of EMTs (NREMT)
certification as a requirement for New Mexico EMT license renewal. By meeting the New Mexico CE requirements for license renewal, one should also meet most of the CE requirements of the NREMT National Continued Competency Program (NCCP).

New Mexico EMS providers are required to recertify every two years. During each certification period, providers must complete a specified number of continuing education hours based on their level of certification.
