Washington DC EMS Refresher

Washington, DC follows NREMT requirements for EMS recertification. All certifications are renewed every two years and follow the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) model with three components: national, local/state, and individual education components.
EMT Refresher
40 hours total continuing education required
National: 20 Hours
Local/State: 10 Hours
Individual: 10 Hours
AEMT Refresher
50 hours total continuing education required
National: 25 Hours
Local/State: 12.5 Hours
Individual: 12.5 Hours
Paramedic Refresher
60 hours total continuing education required
National: 30 Hours
Local/State: 15 Hours
Individual: 15 Hours
